TE-MA

TE-MAは、「手間」、「テーマ」、という２つの意味から成る、オリジナルの家具、プロダクトシリーズである。

それぞれのエレメントは、抽象的な形やディテール、機能を持つことで、使い手自身がその使い方を、手間をかけ、各々のテーマを発見し、暮らしの中に取り込んでいくことを目的としている。

001:門型のスチールフレームに、幾つかの高さでフラットバーの突起が取り付けられているのみのプロダクト。突起に棒や布、何かをひっかけたり載せたりすることで、ハンガーパイプやパーティションとして機能する。

002:3枚のスチール板を布蝶番でつなげてできた脚。自在に角度を変えられる3枚の板が自立する形を使い手自身が探し、好みの天板や座面を載せることで、テーブルや椅子として使用できる。

003:棚板とアール加工されたアングルをシームレスに繋げることで、支えているものと支えられているものの境界線を曖昧にした棚。アングルはブックエンドとしての機能も果たす。

完成された製品としてというよりは、未完成さの残る開かれたエレメントとして、使い手とコミュニケーションが成立する媒体のような、もののあり方をTE-MAは追求している。

TE-MA is an original series of furniture and products, whose name is derived from two Japanese words: “tema” (meaning effort or care) and “te-ma” (meaning theme).
Each element in the series features abstract forms, details, and functions, encouraging users to engage with them thoughtfully, discover their own themes, and incorporate them into their daily lives.

001:A product composed simply of a gate-shaped steel frame with flat bar protrusions attached at several heights.
By hanging or placing rods, fabrics, or other items on the protrusions, it functions as a hanger pipe or partition.

002:Legs made by connecting three steel plates with fabric hinges.
Users can find their own way of making the three adjustable plates stand independently, and by placing a tabletop or seat on top, the structure can be used as a table or chair.

003:A shelf that blurs the boundary between what supports and what is being supported by seamlessly connecting a shelf board with curved-angle brackets.
The angled parts also serve as bookends.

Rather than presenting a finished product, TE-MA explores a way of being that remains open and incomplete — elements that act as mediums for communication between the object and its user.
